UltraFitnessDynamics Review: Six Pack Quest by Vince Delmolnte


5 Stars-Without Hesitation

 After years of reading articles, books, blog posts all purporting to offer a fool-proof method for achieving flat toned abs for women and the sought after ‘6-pack’ abs for men, I admit to starting the book with no little amount of skepticism. As a fitness fanatic in my own right, I was certain that I would once again read the same recycled information. I was more than pleasantly surprised-I was absolutely captivated by both the holistic approach embraced by Vince and his thorough review of the subject matter. Aside from his expertise as a leading personal trainer, he clearly understands the emotional, psychological and physical challenges that must be addressed and reconciled before true success (in any endeavor) can be achieved).

A Quick Overview

The book is extremely well-constructed, and clearly a labor of love. It is filled with useful tips, practical advice, an excellent overview of overall lifestyle changes required for optimal health, and aside from having your own live personal trainer, one of the most motivational books on fitness that I have ever read. The book leaves out nothing – Vince discusses everything from sleeping habits to managing plateaus. The chapter headings below provide a glimpse into his comprehensive and serious treatment of the topic. This is a book for those who are serious about making lasting changes to enhance their health. He not only expects, he demands that your complete commitment to change. A toned or muscular abdominal area has long been a sign of youth and beauty, and can be obtained at any age. If you follow this program, it will transform–not simply your appearance-but enhance your outlook on life, drastically increase your confidence and instill a belief that anything is possible. True transformation requires both internal and external change, but it is not possible to significantly change your appearance without a shift in self-esteem. Vince is a master at presenting complex information in a comfortable manner, without ever compromising the integrity of the information. In fact, his presentation is at polar opposites with most of the magazines, books and articles in the fitness industry. He specifically states that the program will not be ‘perfect abs in 30 days’. Rather he sets forth a balanced plan to reach and maintain the image that you crave. While you absolutely cannot help but succeed if you follow his plan, you must be patient and committed. With these 2 qualities, the dramatic changes will be awe-inspiring. When a person can transform to such a degree-is any dream out of reach?

Motivation and Inspiration

Vince reveals his own struggles to demonstrate his grasp of the difficulties faced by the average person endeavoring to be extraordinary: 1) determine your goals, 2) identify your obstacles (the little voice inside that wants you to revert to your comfort zone), 3) recognize the Law of Attraction at work: if we focus on how difficult an exercise will be, we will find ways to avoid it, instead focus on your goals, how amazing you feel after finishing a great workout, treating your body to unprocessed whole foods, respecting our body enough to avoid over-eating, drinking to excess, smoking, allowing ourselves to become sleep-deprived, 4) truly believe that you will succeed-it is not sufficient to ‘want’ or to ‘try’, one must DO, and 5) focus upon ‘goal getting versus ‘goal setting’. As we all know from unfulfilled New Year’s Eve resolutions-it is easy to plan, far harder to execute. Just start. Having a plan is fine-putting off execution until your plan is perfected, is not acceptable. Vince advises that we ask ourselves: ‘Will this action get me closer to my goal or further from my goal’? The perfect question to ask before you start to eat, when you start debating about going to the gym, or even when considering whether to do that 1 last rep.

Fitness and Nutrition

Vince offers solid fitness tips (e.g., emphasizing the importance of ‘full range of motion’ over larger weights, and intensity of cardio workouts over quantity or length), as well as highly practical advice, depending upon the time constraints each person faces, and structures routines even for those that have only 3 hours a week to spend training. He also offers an excellent analysis of nutritional guidelines which are straight forward, and is very blunt about what he terms as the ‘over-hyped supplement industry’. While he acknowledges that certain supplements are important (protein powder, an excellent multivitamin/mineral complex), he also cautions that supplements are not intended to replace the need to eat balanced nutritionally-dense whole, unprocessed foods. His recommendations are excellent and that is why this site provides so few supplements-only those of the highest caliber.

Vince also recommends a nutritional cleanse prior to starting the program. While we disagree with his cleanse of choice (‘the Master Cleanse’), we wholeheartedly agree that ridding the body of environmental toxins and food additives is essential to ramping up the eight loss, and particularly body fat.
